Everything StateSplit publishes, the playbook, the calculator, this site, and any email reply, is general educational information. It is not tax, legal, financial, or accounting advice. It was written by a licensed CPA, but reading it, buying it, or emailing us does not make you a client: no CPA-client or advisory relationship is created, and the author is not your CPA.
Educational information only
The playbook and calculator describe how the rules generally work for people who moved from California to Oregon during the tax year. Your facts may differ in ways that change the answer. Tax figures are for tax year 2026 and are estimates: confirm every number against the current form or its instructions before you file. Complex situations, such as large equity grants, a spouse still in California, or an audit letter, deserve a qualified professional who has seen your facts.
The calculator is an estimate
The free calculator is a planning tool. It uses simplified assumptions, models wages and standard deductions only, and is not a substitute for the actual returns or for professional preparation. Do not file from its output.
Email support
Questions sent to info@statesplit.com are answered as general education: what the rule is and where to verify it, never what you personally should do. If a question needs individual analysis, the reply will say so and describe what kind of professional to look for. Emailing does not create a client relationship, and email is not a secure channel for sensitive documents: please do not send Social Security numbers, returns, or account statements.
Privacy
There are no accounts and no tracking dashboards. The calculator runs entirely in your browser: nothing you type is sent to a server. If you email us, your address is used to reply and for nothing else. If you buy the playbook, payment is handled by the checkout provider; StateSplit receives your email address to deliver the PDF and any annual update notes, and you can opt out of those at any time.
Refunds
If the playbook does not tell you something worth more than its price, email info@statesplit.com within 30 days of purchase for a full refund. No forms, no questions.
